I have the Intensity Pro and along with it I bought another internal hard drive and it seems it's not quite what I need for this capture card as it barely matches the minimum speed for high def recording at 720p and a lot of the times I get a substantial amount of lost frames that make the video barely playable. I have also noticed that after running the speed test with some data on the hard drive, the results are worse so I always have to format the drive before a new recording, and I would not record more than 10 mins or it'll start dropping frames (sometimes it does it right away). I assume this would be a hard drive issue and so I'm looking to buy a more suitable hard drive for this capture card, any suggestions are appreciated.

For uncompressed 720p you need two hard drives in RAID zero. For uncompressed 1080i you need three drives in RAID zero. These would be separate from your OS drive C:.

Or you can use the BlackMagic MJPEG codec to compress on-the-fly to a single drive.

I was way off trying to record uncompressed video. I will now use it compressed. It seems to work a lot better. Thanks for your response.
