i just downloaded ffmpegx and tried to convert a video from .MOD to .MOV and it converted only 15 minutes of the video. i only installed two of the three things when first opening the program, could that be the problem? please help. Thanks

Possibly it found a timecode break at 15 minutes in, which was interpreted as an end-of-file.
MPEG Streamclip could fix timecode breaks prior to conversion.

No, if the binary that you didn't install was essential for this conversion, then you wouldn't have got 15 minutes of output.
