they have been around a long time. before the net they were a mail order catalog outfit.

They are very reliable. They always charge high prices for good electronics. That is what you were asking right? LOL!!!

They're reliable. Not the fastest at shipping, but very reliable.

I buy car stereos from them but for other electronics you can find better prices on Amazon.

A similar retailer, J&R usually has better prices, but never any problems with Crutchfield. http://www.jr.com/ Both are dependable and reliable, IMO.

A lot depends on what you plan to buy. Each company has it's strengths with different devices. I agree Crutchfield has a great selection of car stereos. For more portable devices, I prefer J&R.

If you have a particular device in mind, Google Products Search or My Simon are a couple of places I have used to get decent comparative prices.

Thanks to everybody that replied, I am in Canada so J&R and other famous ones may not be the best bet cause I need to avoid importation.
