I have a panasonic hdc-hs9 and record to a sd flash card which makes .m2ts files. I bought a canon hf s10 and put the flash card in it and it records in .mts files. I wasn't impressed by the canon so I put the card in my panasonic and formated it. Now my panasonic only writes .mts files to the card(I have been affraid to use it's hard drive in recording) and transfers them to the computer. I am trying to get my card and camera back to the way it was before I tried that awful canon.
Thanks

The files produced by the Panasonic are supposed to be .m2ts files, I have over 120GBs of them but now it is writing .mts files.

both format extensions are the same thing - mpeg transport streams.
maybe you used a program to transfer them that might have changed the extension?
as long as the cam is set to record in the bitrate you want the end result is the same. check the different files with mediainfo.--
