  1. I want to do some animation and video work making my own movies.
I don't have anyone around to do voices.
Any good software that I could record the speech then edit my voice to make voices for the various characters?
I'm no good at doing various voices like some people.
Gee if I could afford Robin Williams he could probably do them all LOL

Anyway I have 1 voice and I am stuck with mine and need about 5 voices.
I tried the demos for a couple programs that may great claims but all they did was make goofy robot sounding stuff.
I need voices that sound like real people, but change mine to from male to female and various things like that.

Free or cheap is best, if it's really good and maybe a demo to be sure it does what I need then I could try to save up for slightly expensive like $100-$200 if for sure I know it works.

That MorphVox sounds pretty promising. If the missus takes one eyeball off the family budget, $40.00 is going to come up missing and strange new voices will start coming out of my 'puter....

You could try the free Junior version to see if it might fit your needs.

Just a thought, you might try an alternate approach - having the computer generate the voice from text: http://www.myriad-online.com/en/prod...tualsinger.htm and record the output.

It certainly can generate a variety of different voices and when I fed it the lyrics to “Genie With The Light Brown Hair” a few years ago it did fairly well singing them and it seems to have been considerably enhanced since then.

If the voices it produces are acceptable, it would save having to record them yourself and could have other advantages in terms of synchronization etc. (although it might be difficult to put in the proper inflection and phrasing).

Just noticed: "Virtual Singer includes the Real Singer II technology: you create a voice from recordings of your own voice."
Not sure what this means but the price is right if it does what you want.
