I mainly use orbitdownload to download streaming media and it has worked fine... But it doesn't seem to work on the finewoodworking videos. The have a media player, it's flash version 10 i think, but when i start the video orbitdownload doesn't notice like it usually does (I use the IE browser plugin).
So anybody got any suggestions for methods/software that will be able to download these videos? You can check some of them out for free at http://www.finewoodworking.com/woodworking-videos/
Thanks!

I couldn't find a video at the woodworking site you linked, to try it myself. Using Firefox.Answers to Common Video Questions:
Best blank discs • Timebase Corrector FAQ • Best VCR for capturing • Help restoring video
You couldn't find the videos? Strange... they're right there... when I open the link above I get a flash player with a video playing right away in the left side and a listing of the next 4 videos on the right...
As far as the thread you linked to... Is there anyone out there that has this software? Replay Media Catcher that is... I would really like to be sure that it works on this site before I spend the $40... a free alternative would be better for sure... especially since it's just this site I have had problems with so far... orbitdownloader takes care of the rest...
Anyone... ???
BTW... I also encountered this problem at Wood Magazine's website: http://www.woodmagazine.com/woodworking-tips/videos/
Seems as though they use the same video system...
I would really appreciate some solution to this...
You can download the video using "DownloadHelper" , its an add-on for mozilla firefox.
It works just fine for this video(and for any other)
pirej... just tried it and doesn't work for me... it picks up the titebond commercial on finewoodworking... as does orbit download... but when the actuall video is playing... nothing...
any other suggestions?
I know this thread is old but I was searching for the same answer. I found a program that does capture these videos and thought I would post for others who are searching for this answer. The program that worked was Replay Media Catcher.
