    I am possibly looking at buying the JVC HM-DT100U which is a D-VHS VCR with HDMI output. The problem is it seems to have only been released for the American market. Does anyone know of an equivalent European model?

    B&H Photo (NY City) has refurbished and possibly new stock of these available! for $220 and $330 respectively. 90 days P&L warrenty on the refurb (from B&H) and 3 months parts/1 year labor (from JVC) on the new;

    After doing a search here and AfterDawn, I found almost nothing on the 100U. Anyone have any input here??

    Since this deck has a ATSC tuner, the answer is no.
    They did sell a 5U w/o the tuner. Check for that version.

    Yes I looked up the HM-DH5U but note that this does not play or record to standard VCR tapes, however the JVC HM-DT100U does support this in addition to HD tapes

    I was told here and elsewhere the difference between the two was the lack of a tuner.

    Buy it on e-bay here and have it shipped (if you can find one)??
