Hi, I recently had to adjust some out of sync audio on some mkv video files, but now things have become more complicated. After checking most of my other video files, including recorded tv from my DVB-T usb stick, I've found more and more out of sync files, they are only out of sync by -300 to +300 mili-seconds but it seems very strange that I'm finding more and more.

I know they were in sync because some have been authored to dvd and are in perfect sync, most are stored on my external hard drives, what I really need to know is could this be a faulty audio component on the motherboard?, I'm not sure if this is possible but considering that they were all in sync and are now out, could this be possible, or did they become corrupted sending them to my external drive or have become corrupted some how, would being out of sync be a sign of corruption.

I could have damaged my motherboard after resetting the cmos by changing a jumper, I forgot to change it back and turned my computer on which may have damaged my board, any thoughts are much appreciated, sorry for the long post, thanks.

I guess you have tried different players? Especially video players with built in codecs like vlc and smplayer to check if you get same sync issues.

Yes, tried VLC, MPC, WMP etc but still get the same thing, just wondered how they might have become out of sync, had some freezes and a crash when my external hard drives were on?
