    Hi experts

im having major diffs with ripbot264 (latest version).

i installed it ok on windows 7 ultimate x64 (with all its required addin progs) and it starts up ok.
I can configure everything as normal.
    but once i hit the START button to start the job, it says;
    1. please wait...initializing,
    2. muxing
    3. all jobs finished

but this all finishes inside 1 second but actually does nothing at all??

    here is my log which seems to have many errors ..? , hopefully someone can see what im doing wrong.;

The syntax of the command is incorrect.

did this several times already, even tried using it from c:\ root and other hard drives. same result every time..?
    (using 1.14.6)

it must be a windows 7 issue ...? Does it matter which .net framework i use ? i know ripbot264 suggests .net v2.0, but windows 7 already has v3.5 and doesnt allow v2 to be installed....?

First of all it works on my Windows 7 x64. BTW. USE DEFAULT 4.0 profile!!! Log clearly shows that you use modified old profiles!

I figured it out myself. its to do with the latest "x264" tool included with ripbot264 v1.14.6!
They dont work with my windows 7 x64 ultimate!
    Solution:
I copied older versions of x264 from ripbot264 v1.14.2 over to the latest 1.14.6 and everything work fine, EVEN with custom profiles

thought id post back my solution as it may work for others....

Wrong! I higly recommend to use latest versions of x264!!!
x264 developers decided to remove --progress switch. That's all! remove that switch from your profile and everything should work!

WHAT ARE YOU "wrong'ing" ABOUT MATE??

I dont care if x264 designers have decided to remove, progress, or switch. the new version doesnt work on my system, thats all.
if the old one does, then thats fine by me also.

apart from that, i need the 4.1 profile to play my reburned blurays on my PS3.

so, like is said, this was my solution that worked for me, and if it helps others with the same problem, so be it. you dont need to say "WRONG" when its not in this case !

    adios amigo!!

I see that your knowledge about video encoding is very limited so I won't argue with you (it's like talking with wall)

BTW. PS3 and other blu-ray players also support 4.0 profile!

matey, ive been been doing this since before you were conceived.

but let me educate you just a little. There are a number of technical variances between the two, some minor, but the most important one is the max video bitrate. High Profile 4.0 allows for 25000 kb/s and 4.1 allows for 62500. While you will never see a Blu-ray disc reach 62500kb/s, level 4.1 is pretty much always used. 25000kb/s is more realistic and can be attained on a regular basis, this is why HiP 4.1 is used. Some of my blurays exceed 25000kb/s hence the reason i use profile 4.1.

not sure how this turned into some lame forum battle...? but I hope that clears up everything YOU were lacking in bluray profiling ..?

At the end of the day, i was asking a question here about x264 problems and you turned it into something else.
maybe you should get out more and stop "talking to those walls" of yours ! lol!!

oh.. i nearly forgot. i tried your method of using the normal 4.0 profile..it didnt work! So the problem is still with x264!

    ...to Matha !!

You are aware you are arguing with the author of RipBot?

Hey you genius! If you are so smart so why you use this --vbv-bufsize 25000 --vbv-maxrate 25000 for 4.1 profile? Also strict Blu-Ray 4.1 profile requires --slices 4 and --min-keyint 1 --keyint 24. I will say it again. You have no knowledge about things you say.

He may be the author... but he is not a God!

if you read all the posts you will see HE started it! i repeat what i said earlier, initially I was asking a question, to which i answered and solved myself (yet i apparently have "no knowledge" ??). "God" then came on and started slagging me off ? wtf ?
If ripbot264 was so brilliant (which it is, well..was) , why does it not work for me (since v 1.14.2) ?

If theres one thing i hate about forums, its that i have no time for individuals who put themselves on "pedestals". Fair enough he may be the Author, and i do tip my hat to him for producing ripbot, but there is absolutely no necessity to condescend other forum members for simply asking a question/providing an answer. Now is there ?

i see he is from Ireland (like myself) , perhaps we should settle this traditionally over a pint ? lol!

I will repeat myself one more time
    1) Remove whole ripbot264 folder. I mean everything! Tools / Profiles / ripbot264.exe
    2) download latest 1.14.6 from here
    http://85.230.118.136/showthread.php?t=127611
    3) Don't use your old profiles! Just use included default 4.0 profile
