  1. Just a question, Has anyone ever used a blueray player ethernet port to play video from home network storage? I am thinking about buying a blueray player if this can be done, right now I have a Haupage MediaMVP and a Sony dvd player it would be nice to replace both with a single player that can also play video from a home network. I have been trying to find more info on the internet about this with out any luck, anyone have info about this?

until recently i would have said it is impossible. however recently there was a release to do this kind of thing "Ray in Blu" checkout www.rayinblu.com it is still in beta. i have a disc and it is working for me. it is a blu-ray disc you place in your player it then loads and lets you play files from on your pc. i still prefer my xbox/xbox 360 for doing this but it is nice and still early i am hoping they keep up work on it.

Is the disc BD Player-specific, or can it work on any BD Player model that is BD-Live capable?

  10. I have an LG BD390 and it works excellent. LG even provides the software to set the whole thing up. Wireless seems to be usless for HD but wired works excellent with 1080 material.

Many players won't work. It is after all a Beta. The Insignia NS-BRDVD3-CA I was looking to purchase isn't on the list, nor is my router, the D-Link WBR-2310. I may have to wait or look elsewhere....
