    I've read that the PS3 supports divx 'xsub' soft subtitles, so for convenience I'm trying to rip my DVDs straight to this format.

    I'm presuming the Divx Encoder with DVD plugin will do this, but that would set me back a bit before I'm sure I'm happy with the results.

    I've tried Dr DivX (seems a bit buggy on windows 7) and DVDFab, any other similair all-in-one program that supports xsub creation?

    I haven't seen it in any good dvd to avi converter like megui,staxrip,handbrake,autogk,xvid4psp. But it wouldn't be that tricky to rip to a avi with external sub/idx in one step and then use AVIAddXSubs or avisub.
