Hi, I am interested in creating a short video, one 7 minutes and one 15 to 30 minutes long , to put on a website or on a facility that hosts short video broadcasts. Thing is I do not know the first thing about how to go about broadcasting a video clip , or what equipment I need to get ,or the costs involved. Does anyone have any good links to information on this subject, good how to guides or books, thanks .

Clarify what you mean by "video broadcast" and what your specfic needs/goals are

If you mean a web video hosting site, there are free ones like vimeo, youtube, blip.tv. Some of them have "pro" or paid features that enable more functions based on your needs.

Another option is to host your own site - this is more expensive, but gives you the most control

Assuming you've made your video already, you just upload to the web host.

    Cheers, poisondeathray,
The vimeo site seems a good startng point to learn about how this video on the internet works. I will have a look at the various options available on this site first, and come back to the forum , in the meantime thank you for directing me to two sites I had never heard of. Cheers
