Bluray to Mp4 & Vise Versa Question

If I convert my Bluray movies to Mp4, will I still have the original Bluray 1080p quality picture? The reason why I ask is because if I store my bluray movies as a backup onto my HDD as an MP4, and If I ever needed to burn the movie back onto a disk again, I would still like to have the original 1080p quality video.

Thanks... I guess I'll have to continue to save them as BD disk.
