I found out in this forum:

    https://forum.videohelp.com/topic374543.html

that it's possible to make dvd-rips in mkv format with softsubtitles(idx/sub) just with handbrake.
However, when using this method, I was unable (in all my attempts) to render the subtitles with any of the commonly known subtitle renderers(vsfilter 2.37, ffdshow, mpc-hc internal renderer).

*extracting the subs with mkvextract, only ffdshow was able to display the subs.

Also, none of these Media players worked(mpc-hc, kmplayer, gomplayer)

*Vlc was the only one to be able to show the subtitles in white, but they were all almost unreadable due to a weird transparent aspect in the subtitles, and it seens that I'm not able to edit the way the subs are displayed(with the subs not embedded, they were yellow but still with the transparent aspect).

    I uploaded the file here:

So, if anybody could suggest "where" is the problem or download the file to make tests, it would be much appreciated.

OBS: My main goal is just be able to playback properly this file with the subtitles embedded. I don't have preference about this player or that player.
