The company I work for has a capture system which takes the firewire output of a camera and records straight to DV Video on the computer. Unfortunately, sometimes the firewire cable comes loose when shooting and leads to crashes and missed video. Has anyone had any experience with this? What is the best way to secure a firewire cable to a camera? (Keep in mind that we work with different videographers - otherwise I'd just superglue the cable to the camera - lol).

    Thanks.

Somewhat 'retro', but wrap a rubber band around the FireWire cable at the connector and stretch it around the camera. FireWire connector sockets loosen after a bit of use and no real cure for that. The cables were made to be easily plugged in and out and a securing method or latch was never incorporated into the system.
