Anybody else having trouble with this?

I can't enter the PSN for the giveaway in MPEG-VCR's registration window. Vista just reports "Not responding" when I open the program and try to enter it. I removed the original installation, and downloaded again. Same story.

I encountered no problems whatsoever with MPEG Video Wizard DVD when they gave it away. It's still installed.

I have this version installed on my XP SP2 and Vista 64 systems. No issues installing, accepting the PSN, or running and editing files.

GAOTD has some reports like yours, but it's not consistent. It's something with your system causing it. It could be anything from your .NET to your display drivers to your browser -- or something else entirely.

I noticed this product disappeared from their normal web page. Used to sell for $19.

Note that the key code is in the txt file inside the zip.

I tried installing MPEG-VCR on my old computer, which is running Windows XP Home 32-bit, and the same thing happened. MPEG-VCR would not respond. I tried disabling my security software, and un-installed IE8, but it still didn't work. Oh well, at least I didn't pay for it.

  9. Thanks for the warning, Lordsmurf.

I installed yesterday night Womble MPEG-VCR without problems in two computers, one with XP (32 bit) and the other with Vista (32 bits).

The program works very well. The only think I have not been able to do is merge two files in one. Does anyone know how to do it?

What really amazed me today was all the stupid people leaving comments.

    Stupid things I read included:
    - It predates DVD
    - VirtualDub edits MPEG better
    - It can't edit video with AC3
    - It doesn't edit AVI

Are these people really that retarded at using computers?

I wanted to shout RTFM about a dozen or more times.

You can still buy them. It's available at the shopping cart site used by Womble.

They're pushing their new $99 program instead, which I find a bit stupid. It must not be an American company, because they're effectively enacting a price hike during a down economy. It's almost business suicide. I suggest they un-hide the more affordable products, and take whatever $$ they can get right now, instead of pricing out of most budgets. I've seen a lot of this stupid behavior int he past 6-18 months now. Slysoft (AnyDVD) is another good example. All this does is encourage more piracy, or force folks to seek free/cheaper (maybe inferior) products.

I've tried to contact Womble several times in the past, but they don't respond.

I use mpeg2vcr for 10 years now, and I never needed something else.

I dream for a program exactly like mpeg2VCR (same user interface) but for the H264 files. Then, I'm covered for another 10 years.
