    hii there,
I got a tv with the native display resolution of 1366x768.
If I connect my ps3 to the tv, will the tv convert the signal from 1080p to 1366x768 ?
I amnt so sure about it since every seller jz call it as tv hd 1080p (KLV-26U300 26" BRAVIA Multi-System LCD HD 1080p)
I hope someone can answer my question.

You will need to download the manual or ask Sony whether the 1366x768 KLV-26U300 accepts 1920x1080p. 1280x720p and 1920x1080i would be accepted. PS3 games are mostly 720p native or less so 720p would probably look fine.

If you send 1080p, the PS3 must upscale to 1920x1080p, then the TV would need to downscale to 1366x768. This double scaling probably would result in a lower quality picture.

Another argument is most will never see a difference between 720p and 1080p on a 1080p native 26 inch TV unless you were significantly closer than a meter from the screen.

ivade-ragnarok, I've split your post off to a separate topic where you may get more answers. If you post in an existing topic, you want to address the original posters question, or better, start a new topic if your question is different.

    And welcome to our forums.

All HDTVs will digitally upscale or downscale anything that doesn't match their native resolution. Even a matching input is usually upscaled to simulate overscan. The question is what input resolutions your HDTV supports. I believe all will accept 1280x720p and 1920x1080i. Only newer HDTVs will accept 1920x1080p.

If the video is 1080p to start with there is no upscaling needed,if the video is 720p and the ps3 sends it out as 1080p then its upscaled.
