  1. Hi there,

I'm trying to convert an flv file to mp3 (or, if possible, just extract the audio in one way or another that I can than either convert it ot import to quicktime)

It always worked, just a couple of months ago it stopped working... all I get is an error message saying: "[flv @ 0x5597b8]Unsupported video codec (7)" - what can I do? Your help is very much appreciated! Thanks!

The software you are using does not recognise AVC video in FLV container.
You can extract the audio with FLV Extract.

  3. @ Gavino:
thank you! I wanted it to try right away but I've just seen that it works on Windows only and I'm using a Mac

Is there any other way to either convert AVC in a FLV container? Or extract Audio on a Mac?
(didn't know this was the case... it's a youtube video... means they must have changed it since I can't open it with VLC either, which always worked...)

Yes, YouTube seem to have recently changed to using AVC video and AAC audio in an FLV container.
I found I had to update my VLC to open them (now using v1.0.3).

I'm sorry, I know nothing about Mac software, so can't help on that front.
