I have no idea why it all of a sudden started showing up in all of my videos - but I can't get rid of it! I tried burning video's of my family, and it shows that green writing on the top left!

Can someone please tell me how to get rid of that writing?

It could be ffdshow or some other filter that display statistics.

You can easily disable it in ffdshow, check if you have ffdshow in the start menu or else play a video in wmp and see if you see a ffdshow icon in the notification area. Disable the Info & CPU OSD, see screenshot
