I have a movie which was originally encoded with wrong AR so people look vertically shrunk. I would rather not reencode it and just use a software to make any player adjust the AR on the go. If I am not mistaken I understand mpeg 4 modifier does this. Is this correct. If so can anyone advise me how this is done?
    thanks

  2. Mpeg4Modifier will only work with Divx/Xvid AVI files. You simply open the AVI file with Mpeg4Modifier and set the PAR or DAR flags, then Save (as a new file).

What format is the movie encoded in currently?

DV? You could probably fix it with DVDate, Enosoft DV Processor, etc.

Regular AVI? You could use AVIFrate or something, but a player wouldn't likely recognize it.

QT? Depends on if you're going to be playing it w/ QT player or not (if so, a correcting DAR/PAR sizing adjustment and SaveAs Self-contained will work).

    MPEG1? MPEGSequenceMaker
    MPEG2? Restream

There are others (these are ALL non-re-encoding methods)...
