I have a Sony VGN F41E laptop connected to a Hyundai Q321 TV. I am using a HDMI to DVI cable from the laptop to the DVI in on the TV. I use audio leads for the sound. The picture on the TV is much darker colours than the Laptop. As an example there are no problems when connecting the laptop from VGA out to DVI in on the TV when in PC mode.
I have calibrated the laptop with a Spyder2Pro. Any adjustment to temperature/brightness etc via the Tv is to no avail. Whether I am viewing iplayer or a divx movie all pictures on the TV remain unwatchable due to it being too dark.
What may be the problem please?

Are both the video and the windows dark? If just video it's probably an video overlay issue. You should be able to adjust those settings in the advanced tab under your display settings.
