Hi I'm new and pretty much a technophobeI just bought the player and I am from overseas, so a lot of my DVD's are from there. Is there any way to watch them?
If I can't, I wondered if there was a way of hooking my laptop up to the home theater system and playing them that way.. or is that just me being dumb? lol
Thanks in advance for any help![]()

Not sure about the computer method....but as far as a DVD player in America you will need a player that can be made "Region Free"....and one that will convert your overseas DVDs to America's NTSC video format.
Don't let anyone tell you that "region free" is all you need. They are lying or stupid. Region Free and Video Format are NOT the same. Philips players are the best for the money....inexpensive and many(NOT ALL) of them can be modified to play your DVDs.
Thanks for the advice hech54. I've actually already got the DVD player but just can't seem to find anything anywhere about making it region free.
The one you bought might not be "hack-able". Not all players can be made region free...and even fewerOriginally Posted by cheekychic

before buying a player that you intend to play overseas DVDs with.
