I hope my title is accurate. Here's my dilemma. I have a very extensive DVD library with many TV show collections. I've recently upgraded to Windows 7 and am enjoying Windows Media Center. I've noticed that WMC will not play VOB files. Converting the VOB into mpeg works but the individual episodes are not separated. Is there an easy way or app to do this? ie: DVD with 7 episodes > convert to mpeg > each episode in mpeg format. Thanks in advance!
Life is like a game of poker. If you can't spot the sucker after a few minutes...then you ARE the sucker.

How do you rip to mpg now? Vob2mpg? Maybe vob2mpg pro let you do that.

Use DVD Decrypter in IFO mode to rip each episode as a single VOB file. Then use VOB2MPG.

I know that Hanbrake can handle TV shows - you have to go through and queue up each episode, though. The catch is that Handbrake is in closed beta on their newest release so if you get the old stable version it's really old (over a year) but the newest version is a snapshot so it isn't 100% stable. I'm hoping the new Handbrake will be out soon, but it's hard to say for sure.

Another option would be DVDdecrypter to ISO, then use fairusewizard to seperate into episodes.

The latest SVN of handbrake, which you can get here (http://handbrake.fr/snapshot.php) I have been using with my tv episodes and it has been very stable.
