problem with email notice of post in a subscribed thread

Here's what I received in the notification email for a subscribed thread:

When I clicked on it, I got the following message:

Sorry but only users granted special access can read topics in this forum

Then when I went to that thread in the usual manner, there is no such post, so something is wrong. What? I seem to have normal access and functionality otherwise.
