    I'm using:
    JVC SR-VS20 SVHS s-video out
    into a DataVideo TBC-1000
    into a Elite Video BVP4+
    into a ADVC 110
    into a Radeon HD 4850
    Using WinDV for capture.

    Now, I couldn't quite get a picture I was happy with using the Elite Video, so took it out of the chain.

    Captured once. Wasn't happy with the result. So, I took the TBC out also. So, I'm capturing from the SVHS directly to the ADVC 110. The result looks a bit better, but not much. It might just be my imagination - haven't had a chance yet to compare since I'm still capturing. But the video just looks a kind of blurry.

    I've heard that you can overlay multiple captures on top of each other and improve resolution. Anyone familiar with that?

    I have to say that at least with PAL you get better resolution. What I've got right now is NTSC.

    I haven't looked into post-processing yet. I'm hoping to get a third capture with the BVP4 and overlay them, (if anyone can give me some comment on that). I haven't used the Elite Video in a few months, so I'll have to review how to set it up. But, is anyone familiar with a procedure for getting the best out of a BVP4?

    The noise on this tape isn't so bad, it's just the resolution that bothers me.

    Radeon HD 4850 ???

    Well it should be for best results ... far too many devices in the chain which can contribute to poor quality

    JVC SR-VS20 SVHS s-video out > ADVC 110 > FireWire > Dv card > Windv

    Don't know how you got the Radeon HD 4850 into this

    Nstc = 720h x 480w vs Pal = 720h x 576w ... nothing here, just normal

    It's your imagination.
    The TBC is needed for signal stability. The proc amp adjusts colors.
