Thomson DTH 8555X

With my new TV (SamsungUE40B8090) I tried to connect the Thomson DTH8555X with HDMI out but it dosn't work.
At last I tried to update the Firmware 5.06 to 5.42 but there ist always the same Problem - no Signal on HDMI.
In the manual are no details for the HDMI, only that it should be used when connectet with a Digital TV.
Is there anybody who had this Problem too and can say me what can be wrong ??

Most DVD players will auto turn on the HDMI port when it is connected to something. Yours probably requires the port to be turned on in the DVD player settings. You would also choose format (e.g. 480i/480p/576i/576p/720p/1080i/1080p)

For the Samsung UE40B8090 you would use 1920x1080i (TV processes the image) or 1920x1080p (DVD player processes the image).
