    Is there any guide on the above subject. I have a SRT subtitle and would like to add to a MKV video without recompressing the video. Thanks

    I think MKVToolnix will do what you want, but you might have to demux your original mkv file and then mux again including the subs. It comes with a basic GUI and there are various other GUIs available also.
