    I have over than 1000 files, which i grab from my dvd´s.....

    I wish to convert all these files to a smaller sizes, with minimun of quality loss, i have another empty hd to convert these files...


    which program and format u think i have to use?

    You might look into the H.264 codec. It's fairly compact and still has good quality in small filesize. Better than XviD/Divx, IMO. A couple of programs to look at: Handbrake, XviD4PSP.

    Or StaxRip or Megui and convert to h264 video with aac audio in a mp4 or mkv. Try different encoding profiles in the applications and you might have to checkout different deinterlacings filters.

    But encoding all those will take a long long time.

    You do realize any conversion will be lossy?

    I'd save those MPeg2. Hard drives are cheap.
