I have a mkv video file encoded with dts audio that does not play on my media player. I read on forums that I can convert the dts to ac3 with is supported by my media player. I used txMuxer to demux the video and audio into two separate files. Then I use eac3to to convert the audio file from dts to ac3. Last, I use mkvmerge to combine the new ac3 file with the .264 video file. However, when I play the movie it is out of sync. The video is always slightly too fast. I have tried all the fps that is offered and it seems that 24000/1001 is the closet I can get and it is still about 4 seconds too slow. Any suggestions?

Use popcorn MKV converter for audio. will automatically mux streams back also. not had a problem here with same issue as yourself. worth a try. best of luck.

Mkvmerge has a delay function so use that if the audio is slight out all the time.
