    Hi All,
I've some movies in .avi format, but want to burn them as DVD disc. So need to convert them into .VOB format. I've some softs, they are doing well, but increasing the size too big. suppose in .avi format 700 MB to .VOB format 2.5 GB!!!

Even from .avi to .mpeg size also increasing too bigger!!!

So, how can make dvd of those .avi files without changing size & quality?

Just lower the video bitrate to get smaller size, in many tools can you also set the output file size. Use for example convertxtodvd, avstodvd, dvd flick.

BUT you can't keep the quality as dvd video needs higher bitrate=bigger file size to keep similar quality as avi divx/xvid/h264 video.

If you want to keep them the same size, get a DVD player that will also play Divx/Xvid encoded avi files, or get a WDTV and a portable HDD.

if you want to put them on DVD as DVDs, then it is one movie per disc (two if you use dual layer). Generally you need 3 - 4 times the original file size when converting to mpeg-2 to come close to maintaining the original quality (low as it is).

    Hi,
Sorry, but lately...I want to know something about film quality.
suppose, In our country, lots of "6 in 1 disk" movies available from Superbit collection in 7.81 GB, 1 disk. But, here film quality not bad (of course not as single disk). But as I told, if I convert .avi to .mpeg/.mpeg2, quality become very bad, although space increases from 700 MB to 2.5 GB.

But, how they are doing this? I mean 6 movies compressing (.VOB format) almost loosing film quality in 7.81 GB?

Try encoding at 352x576 or 352x288.
