I have a Macbook and PC networked, and I would like to share the speakers I have for my PC. The speakers are a 4.1 setup with R/F 1/8" inputs. I've searching the internet for an audio splitter to do this, but I'm having a hard time finding anything. Any help would be appreciated.

So the speakers are physically connected to the PC and you want your MacBook to be able to play through them? Would it be only music you're playing through those speakers or do you need system sounds as well? If you're looking for a simple hardware splitter you can probably find such a thing at Radio Shack. Otherwise if it's a network sharing thing you'll need to find an app to support such a thing.

yeah, the speakers are physically connected to the pc at this point. I want to be able to hear all sounds coming from the Mac. I'll be using the 1/8" out on the Mac to go to the A/B audio switch. I then plan to to run the F/R outs of the PC to the available inputs of the switch. Then run the F/R outs of the switch to the speakers.

    I've found R/L switches, but would they work for a F/R set-up?

F/R = front/rear? If the input/output of the switch is the same connection (1/8" phone jack) then I would think it'd be fine. Do the speakers just use a single 1/8" phone plug?

yup, front and rear. The speakers have two 1/8" plugs, 1 front 1 rear, with one end connected to the sub which powers everything. The other end currently going to the F/R on the pc. The out on the Macbook is a single 1/8".

Not sure if you'll find something complex enough to split the single output on the Mac while at the same time accepting the multiple outputs on the PC. At least you'll be able to still get L/R when the switch is on the Mac. You can just run the rear connection directly from the PC and switch the fronts back and forth.
