Hi;
I have used convertxtodvd for about 6 months. I try to convert a mkv(more than 4 gb size) file to dvd vob file.I chose dvd-5 4.3 gb for the output file. After it finished converting the size is 2.3 or 3.3gb. I tried wherething to make it 4.3 gb but it doesn't make the file 4.3gb.
I don't know what to do.
Is there anyone have an idea.
Thank you for your help.

ConvertX is looking at the running length of your movie and is probably using the maximum available bitrate for the length. The MKV size has no real bearing on the MPEG size.
Drop the first 1GB VOB from ConvertX into MediaInfo or Gspot and see what the bitrate is. Maximum for a DVD is about 9000 - 10000Kbps. If your VOB is near that, then that may be the best quality you can get. But you could try using a higher quality setting in ConvertX and see if that makes a difference.
DVD Ripping? Nope, moving you to our video conversion forum.
Or use another converter like AVStoDVD.
1 month ago i converted a mkv file to dvd and it converted normally, the file's size was 4.3gb. After i had this problem i tried to convert the same mkv file which i converted it 1 month ago and i had the same problem.
Also i tried AVStoDVD but when i start converting it crashed.
I think (just a thinking) there is something deficient in convertx but i don't what it is.
Please help me. I am gonna kill myself.
I have hunderds of mkv movies but i don't have any player for play them on my TV.

Baldrick do you have any idea?
Wow! Could you give more info about that? What is your system? Did you install all the software that comes with AVStoDVD Installer package? Do you have some decent directshow codec installed (like ffdshow)?Originally Posted by kuzutolga
Finally, if you kept the log file generated by AVStoDVD, could you post it here?

Bye
If all else fails, you might uninstall the ConvertX program, then reinstall it. If you look here there is a link to a program that will uninstall the entire program, including the registry files. That should give you a clean install and clear out any problems. http://forums.vso-software.fr/how-to...dvd-t5055.html
