    Hi,

I'm new to this forum, and am relatively ignorant on video container specifics. Now that I have that out of the way....

I am currently ripping my video library, basically 100 DVDs to M4V using Handbrake. I have also used DVD Shrink, Decrypter, and DVDFab. Currently Handbrake is my tool of choice.

I want to put my video files on a NAS and watch them using Boxee or possibly the Netgear EVA 9150. The issue I'm running into is after converting the file I have to create a folder with the movie name then put the M4V in the folder then use a meta tagging tool to look the movie up and add the data into a tag file in the same folder as the M4V. This allows movie covers etc on my devices.

    Here's the question:

Is there a format I can save to that can hold the meta information into one file versus having to convert, folder, look up data? Was hoping for one file per movie. Someone told me an ISO of the full DVD will contain this, but wanted to check with someone more knowledgeable before I delve into that.

If there is a forum link I should read, or this has already been convered please point me that way. I don't mind doing leg work, just need some guidance.

    Thank you,

    Shawn.

Uhmm, I'm pretty sure ALL of them.

AVI - Use ABCAVI tag editor, or Virtualdub (or if DivX, DivFix or something similar)
    QT - Use QT Pro
    MP4 - Use YAMB or MPG4Modifier
    MPEG1 - Use MPEGSequencemaker(mpg1), or Restream (mpg2)
WMV/ASF - Use WindowsMedia File Editor & Stream Editor (come w/WM Encoder)
MKV - Not sure as I only rarely use it, but I know there are some around and that the system is capable of holding that stuff - Likely, MKVToolnix

There are also RIFF tag editors for WAV and also many for MP3 (you probably already know that)...
