Ranges of IP addresses are assigned to different countries, companies, and institutions around the world. It's easy to determine where a particular IP address resides.
That part, sure. I meant: what is the mechanism by which the site implements a "we'll allow access or downloads from this IP, but not from that IP" ?
Every request you make has your IP address.

That's still not what I meant. I would guess that in order to impose this restriction, the site must run some kind of a script-based filter that accepts requests from certain designated IP ranges ONLY.
When in Las Vegas, don't miss the Pinball Hall of Fame Museum http://www.pinballmuseum.org/ -- with over 150 tables from 6+ decades of this quintessentially American art form.

Of course. Just like anything else done on a computer, it has to be built in the software. I don't even understand why you would ask that question. Are you looking for the actual code so you can do the same?

  11. hello all, I need some help with downloading RTMPE streams, I used to be able to use streamtransport but it has since stopped working.

    the site is www.zoig.com

when I use streamtransport it first will download the first video but then all subsequent videos shows a blank space where the file should be played. I thought it might be an issue with the version of streamtransport and version of flash I was using. so I downloaded both program versions from 8 months ago and I still get the same issue.

any ideas of what I can do? or is it impossible to download from that site?

Use rtmpexplorer!! Brightcove video are up to 1280*720, if you have a good internet speed you can get it:

    Code:
    rtmpdump -r "rtmp://brightcove-50.fcod.llnwd.net:1935/a500/d19" -a "a500/d19?videoId=1383893675001&lineUpId=1377100553001&pubId=26269122001&playerId=59348424001&affiliateId=" -f "WIN 11,1,102,55" -W "http://admin.brightcove.com/viewer/us20111223.1052/federatedVideoUI/BrightcovePlayer.swf" -p "http://link.brightcove.com/services/player/bcpid59348424001?bckey=AQ~~,AAAABh3C_dE~,zBkXqCU8K%20VZ251m5EVgAOpsRSvnZ05Pp&bclid=1377100553001&bctid=1378519083001" -C B:0 -C S:mp4:media/26269122001/26269122001_1383980491001_ces2012-innovation-power-panel.mp4 -u "&1326319200000&8d8baf88f59d75d454d0a5f9ecf3f18b" -y "mp4:media/26269122001/26269122001_1383980491001_ces2012-innovation-power-panel.mp4?videoId=1383893675001&lineUpId=1377100553001&pubId=26269122001&playerId=59348424001&affiliateId=" -o 26269122001_1383980491001_ces2012-innovation-power-panel.flv

  17. I've never been able to figure out how to capture RTMPE streams so I thought I'd do a test on a YouTube video.
Pasting the page URL into RTMP Explorer, I got this:

I tried replacing rtmpdump with "C:\rtmpdump.exe" + tried again after putting " after .flv, then pasting the the whole lot in cmd interface, but nothing happened.

    What am I doing wrong?

Very bad test!! You have exactly put your hand in sth that is not supported!!

rtmpdump doesn't support "Handshake 10" yet!! (youtube use that)

    Hello!
Thanks for yr forum. After reading it I tried RTMPExplorer and it worked!

My question is if it's possible to resume downloading in case a file was not downloaded completely?

    Thnx

    Yes, use "-e" parameter/option!!
    Code:
    rtmpdump -r "rtmp://" -a "app path" -f "flash version" -W "flash path" -p "page path" -y "play path" -e "file.flv" -o "file.flv"
Notice: file name should be same!!

The only thing I have to learn now is how I can edit (copy, paste etc.) texts there

If you are using rtmpdump 2.4, rtmpexplorer after detecting parameter and downloading it via rtmpdump, will make a "command.bat" in the same folder of rtmpdump!! open it via notepad and do edits!!
if it isn't exist, when rtmpexplorer detects parameter, take a copy from command line(via "right click", "Select all", pressing "Enter"), then use the parameters in a command.bat(for creating it, create a "new text document.txt" and rename it to "command.bat") and do edits!!

Really command.bat was created and I opened it with notepad and editted.
And how to resume downloading now?

rtmpsrv.exe opens with rtmpexplorer. Where should I insert changed text and how?

When you opened it, you should add -e parameter in it before -o parameter. Like the pattern that I've given you in 1st post! Then run it (I mean, double click on command.bat)!! It (command.bat) will run rtmpdump and resume your dl!!

rtmpexplorer and rtmpsrv detect parameters and then if you notice, rtmpsrv will run rtmpdump for downloading!!

That's great! I had to add parameter and not to change. File I wanted to download was downloaded 100% after 5-6 attempts

I've heard about rtmpdump program before but never imagined how to use it. And now I see this prog is really helpful!

One more question by the way. How can I use rtmpdump separately? Because when I try opening it only falshes. Is it correct? Or rtmpdump.exe must be located at any special place on disc?

It's a "command line program"!! You have to open it via batch script("command.bat" that you have(or you made) is called "batch script")!! and you can't open by double clicking because again it's a "command line program"!!
You can open rtmpexplorer because it's GUI version of rtmpdump.

Sometimes rtmpexplorer can't detect parameters, then you have to write script and use rtmpdump separately!! In this case, use StreamTransport or Coojah for detecting parameter and like the pattern that I've given you, try to replace parameter in command.bat and then enjoy downloading!!

Mostly I use Internet Download Manager. It captures some rtmp streams too. And by the way it downloads the streams without any breaks.
But with rtmpexplorer I could download video from a protected site. I was trying many progs and found GetFLV. But trial GetFLV downloads only 50%.

I don't have any idea but I hope one day I'll write some script to download all videos from everywhere

    Thanks for yr help
