  1. Hello, thank you so much for this tutorial.

    However, I have a problem.

I am trying to download/record this video: http://www.cbs.com/shows/survivor/video/22371AE1-0BF0-CCAC-8AA0-59448B30F3F8/survivor-...an-main-title/

And whenever I use URLsnooper to get the URL, I do not get a RTMPE url. I tried playing the video then pressing Sniff Network, reloading the website. Nothing. Any advice?

    Try:
    Code:
    ffmpeg -i "http://stream.rtvslo.si/simplevideostreaming32/_definst_/2014/04/11/tinkara_kovac__round_and_round__slovenia.mp4/playlist.m3u8" -c copy t.ts
...took a while as I haven't noticed this message edit.
Slow method but worked great for a while. Unfortunately, everything hanged at 2:20 minutes (while entire thing is 3 minutes long). Guess: Server has cut me off because of being connected for half an hour. I'll do another try but doubt it'll complete...
    Greatly thank you for trying!
By the way: how did you fetch that URL?
    Any other suggestions? -Please...

Yes. Individually download the playlist, the chunklist, and the 20 .ts files and copy them into the same local folder, and then use ffmpeg with the playlist as input to assemble the .ts segments into a single file. I completed this successfully. The file size is about 1.15GB.

  9. Does anyone have advice on software tools (MacOSX or Windows) to download the following video:

    http://tvnz.co.nz/kunes-kitchen/s2014-ep6-video-5888464

I had previously successfully used a method using rtmpsuck on a ubuntu virtualbox image but now videos don't even play on ubuntu. Perhaps the linux Adobe flashplayer is now too out of date for that website. But anyways have given up on the ubuntu solution so am hoping for a macosx or windows solution.

    Thanks in advance

It downloads super-well, but is also super-encrypted.

  14. Not sure if this thread is appropriate but: http://www.vevo.com/watch/USMV30500032
How to bypass Vevo geo restrictions without tons of manual proxy tryouts? Certain links, such as above, still don't work even when I have a right proxy. Sorry if that's out of place...

  16. I can't seem to get around this one:
    https://screen.yahoo.com/brit-marling-ellen-page-talk-183648388-cbs.html

I am currently blocked and have tried many methods with proxy to get passed it but i am still blocked. 9/10 times it works with 'Modify Headers' with Firefox. Can someone please grab it for me in highest quality? Or some advise? I am assuming it is United States only.

    Please and thankyou x

Ah, yes I did find that one as well but I couldn't get anything bigger than about 500px. I hoped that yahoo was better.

How did you manage to get the 960x540 from cbs? Urlsnooper isn't working on here, it doesn't install. :/ I have Windows 7

It is a little odd for yahoo to have only one quality, and for it to be so low. I checked the playlists for all platforms, and that is all there is.

The 960x540 on cbsnews is for the i-pad platform. ent_theeastREDO_1800.mp4

Thanks for the rtmpdump code. Unfortunately I just tried it and get:

WARNING: HandShake: Type mismatch: client sent 6, server answered 9
WARNING: HandShake: Server not genuine Adobe!
    ERROR: RTMP_Connect1, handshake failed.

But perhaps I left it too late and some of the data I need to pass to rtmpdump has changed?? Sorry, not completely familiar with rtmpdump and how to extract the correct brightcove player video links.

Even if you were to get it downloaded, the file is further encrypted (as I mentioned above). It has flash access or some such other file-based drm.
