My video card an ATi Radeon HD 3650 AGP does not hardware decode my x264 High Profile 5.1 1080p files. It loves my 720p videos so I know there are formats it will accelerate. I know that it is equipped with the UVD 2.2 that will hardware decode many HD streams. I want to know what container/codec/conversion method I should use to make sure my 1080p videos are hardware decoded. I tried coverting to profile 4.0 and that didnt work. I dont want to buy another AGP vid card, I got the 3650 for free and this system only has another 6 months as my main machine.

    Any suggesions?

There are certain encoding specifications that need to be followed to obtain DXVA compliance.
