Hi!
martinboy wrote in his comment (09.10.09), that the regionfree hack also removes the blu-ray region. I'm a little bit surprised, I thought it's impossible to hack the blu-ray region without modify the hardware?! Can anyone confirm his comment?
(This could change my thinking which player I should buy, the BDP7300 or the LG BD390)
@martinboy: In which country did you buy the player?

Be warned - a lot of people post inaccurate claims about BluRay and DVD player features. Don't be surprised if martinboy is wrong about this.
All currently available BluRay players that are region free for BluRay playback either have modified hardware or modified firmware. I do not know of any exceptions to this. It could also be that martinboy thinks that he has a BluRay for a specific region and it's actually an all region disc. I've read about some BluRays where the box will say it's only for 1 of the regions but testing by people who have true region free BluRay players will show that the disc is actually for all BluRay regions.
