What format?
You want "optical scene detection" feature. Try Google.Recommends: Kiva.org - Loans that change lives.

hi, i tryed HandySaw ds 4, but honestly, it's garbage. can anybody recommand me a better program ? is it possible to do it with virtualdub, maybe ?
thanks to answer
MPEG Video Wizard DVD has a scene detection and blank fades mode. VideoRedo has a similar facility called Ad Detective that basically is more of a fade to black detector. Womble has more detection parameters that can be varied including audio. Another Google search you could do is automatic ad detection as most ads are added to TV at scene changes - well not always!
