Hey folks. This is likely another dumb question from me, but I thought my 5990 would just squash this rez down on my CRT. When I try to play it simply says "resolution not supported." It was the second time in one day that I've had a file not play in this box. The other was in H.264 but I had no idea until I checked it on the the desktop, and yeah, I know the 5990 won't play this format.
    Cheers,

The 5990/5992 top out at 720 horizontal pixels. Your square pixel 852x480 video needs to be H squeezed down to 720x480 (non-square pixel) and flagged "wide" just like is done for DVD.

If your format doesn't support anamorphic wide flags then you need to rescale to near square pixel 720x400. 400 is divisible by 16, 405 (square pixel) isn't.

Er, yeah. I think Ed covered this in his post, and I've already watched said bit on my desktop, so it's not really an issue any longer.

Since you didn't seem to have the information you needed to play on your STB I provided some. I didn't realize you were both lazy and snarky

HalfAzPVR, it's seems to me you're the snarky one. You didn't provide any newer info, and it seems to me that you're the one who needs to live a little more happy, instead of trolling forums trying to impress yourself. Have a great day, you're going to need it.
    Cheers,
