So I run a podcast and we are trying to convert our audio to the use of mic headsets. The headset I already have has a jack for both the line in input and the mic, but we have 4 people and so I want to be able to input all of the audio at the same time. I think I need some kind of a splitter. All I have now is a 2-way splitter and that one only has 2 jacks, both for audio output and none for the mics.

The one I'll need, needs to have 8 ports. 4 for audio output to the headphones and 4 for the mic input. Does anybody have any idea on what the most affordable way to do this is? I'm going to drive to Best Buy now but I don't think I'll find anything there...

    Please and thank you!

What you need is a small mixing desk so you can control each input independently to keep everything balanced.

My issue is money. I mean if I do a mixer, I'm going to need mics and headsets right? I figure 4 mics, 4 headsets and a 4 channel mixer is going to run me like $400 minimum. None of the people I cast with have any money it seems.

Do they make good 4 channel mixers that are compatible with headsets w/ mics that are also affordable?

If you all have mic/headsets with standard small headphone jacks then all you probably will need are adapters to up-size the jack for the mixer. A basic mixer can be had for a pretty low cost

Ahhh I see. So basically you get an adapter that changes the size of the jack from one for the kind of mics you'd hold to smaller ones that are in headsets. I see.

    So a mixer, 4 adapters, 4 headsets.
