    I just updated to MPCHC and on some MP4s I created for the iphone, it places a chapter "subtitle" at the bottom of the video which updates with the current chapter. Neither MPC or VLC do this and I can't seem to turn it off no matter what I change in subtitle.

    Why is it doing this and how do I stop it?

    That sounds like On Screen Display (OSD). In MPCH, click on "View", "Options", "Miscellaneous", and uncheck "Show OSD".
