I have bought one of these lcd displays to display a movie in a store.
    http://www.vkf-renzel.co.uk/art/2781...16711860355849

    it supports MPEG I/II/IV

However when I try convert my movie to MPEG it wont correctly play on the lcd.
I hve been using VisualHub in the past with success but not this time.

So I stumbled across ffmpeg, installed the 3 components and I am noy getting a correct file, its truncated and jumbled...

Any suggestions wold be greatly appreciated...

MPEG-1 is very compatible, as it has been around since 1993. Well known for the VCD standard.
MPEG-2 is widely spread, too. Well known for the DVD standard.
MPEG-4 is relatively new, and comes in a wide variety of flavors, which makes a compatibility check quite extensive.

What kind of MPEG did you try (1/2/4)? Did you try others as well?
Did you try .mp4 or .avi or .mpg?
    Did you try DivX/XviD (MPEG-4 part 2) or H.264 (MPEG-4 part 10)?
Does this display player come with a manual that lists more details on the kind of files it accepts?
Do you have any movie file that will play at this time? (i.e. Is it still fully functional?) If so, what are the characteristics of that file?

i tried mpeg and .mp4 as these options were available through Visualhub. however i didnt have any succes.
i did manage to get this format working previously but I cant seem to get it working now... when I try visualhub it now tells me the is an applescript error with the audio conversion...

is there a reliable way of creating one of the compatible formats from a movie i have produced in Apple's iMovie?

Maybe thats the problem, last time I used a quicktime movie that was sent to me from a tv ad production company. this time i made my own movie in iMovie.

I will try DivX and H.264 today.

I have contacted the supplier this morning asking them for support also.

I cant find the original file that worked as this was deleted by a colleague. I will keep trying!!!

    ok. got it sorted.

if I download a movie from the internet, ie a typical tv show in divx format it will play perfectly on the lcd monitir via sd card. this file has an avi suffix but quicktime says its a divx file.

so i need to replicate that.

so i converted my movie in quicktime 7 using the export to divx function.

this gave me perfect good clear stutter free video. however it appears that the sound didnt convert. so the video plays fine on both the mac and the lcd monitor but no sound on either...

    so i m halfway there!!!

great advice so far Case, thank you for your help!

My QuickTime 7.6.4 doesn't see audio in these files. VideoSpec doesn't report audio for these files. Perhaps the audio was lost in an earlier stage?
