  1. Group,

I have few high resolution (7MP to 10MP) JPG photos. I would like to convert them into a HD slide-show or a HD movie and burn it in a regular DVDR and play it with my DVD player onto my full HDTV using HDMI. Appreciate any suggestion and pointers in this regard.

    Best Regards
    Dominic

  2. You need a blu-ray player (or HTPC) for HD

DVD players are limited to standard definition

Even if you DVD player supports 1080i upscaling over HDMI, this does not mean it can play material that is higher than standard definition (i.e. DVD quality).

That said, some players can player higher quality material. You will first have to consult your player's manual and determine what it is capable of playing back.

If you have a PS3/Xbox360 or HTPC then you have other options open to you.

  4. Thanks This is clear now.

Yes, my DVD player supports 1080i upscaling over HDMI and I should find a way to display at a max resolution from the normal DVD.

Point me to the right resource if possible but I'll try to move this topic to the DVD forum.

    Regards
    Dominic

The maximum resolution for DVD is 720 x 576 (PAL) or 720 X 480 (NTSC)

Have a look at DVD SlideShow GUI as one method for creating DVD slideshows.
