hello, I play guitar mainly by ear, and sometimes I need to slow down a song when fast solos approach. I need an audio editor that allows you to change the PITCH AND TEMPO SEPERATELY! I mainly use OGG and WAV files. I've previously used Guitar & Drum Trainner V4 but was trailware.

Audacity should be able to do all that. And it's freeware.

The newest versions, 1.3.X, have a lot of improvements and now accept AC3, AMR(NB), M4A and WMA, besides MP3, Ogg and WAV. The noise removal filter has also improved. And you can use VST plugins with it, if you have them available.

Yeah, Audacity. Pretty decent freebie. I still prefer SoundForge, however.

I doubt the price ($375) makes it worth to choose it over Audacity...

Back in the day, before all this high falutin computer stuff, my buddy Larry used to play 33 1/3 RPM vinyl at 16 2/3 RPM to learn the guitar. Cutting the speed exactly in half cuts the tempo in half but lowers the pitch exactly one octave, making pitch matching pretty easy.
