    Hello, everybody.

I bought a monitor LG Flatron W2243S two weeks ago.

I run a program ( game ) and the only thing that appears is a message

    OUT OF RANGE

    69.6 kHz / 85 Hz

    and nothing more.

What's this? Is it a problem with the monitor?

    Thanks and cheers.

You monitor has a minimum and max display resolution (read the manual) and make sure you match that # with
your video setting in Windows ...

your best best is to set the refresh rate in Windows to 60Hz

The game is resetting the display settings for whatever you had them set to before you changed displays. You either need to find a way to reset those settings (maybe by hooking up the old monitor again) or re-install the game. Depending on the game it can be easy or difficult. Some games these days have utilities to configure game settings from outside the games, probably partly for this reason.

Thank you, Computeguy and Rallynavvie for your help.
I'm going to try to correct the settings because the re-install of the game did'nt solve the problem.
    Cheers, till the next.

  5. Your monitor probably doesn't support 85 Hz refresh (LCD monitors rarely do). Set the refresh rate in the game to 60 Hz.

Hava a play with these settings.

I get that message when I use Windows 7. I have a 64 MB ram video card and when I set it to high it shows the message and I have to set it at 16 bit resolution. Probably your video card does not support your monitor on your current settings.

  7. Press the Advanced button on that dialog. That will bring up tne Plug and Play Monitor... dialog. Go to the Monitor tab and select the refresh rate:

Thank you, jollyjohn and jagabo and the other ones for their help.

I did the corrections jollyjohn suggested and the refresh ( 60 Hz ) jagabo appointed.

    But the problem remains.

    What else can I do?

    Good day to everyone.

  9. The game must still be changing the resolution and refresh rate when it starts up. Can you configure it's video options? There is almost always a resolution option, but usually not a refresh rate option.

Other things to check: make sure Device Manager has correctly identified your new display. If not, uninstall the driver and reboot. Maybe do this even if it lists the correct driver. Windows should load a new driver. If not, get one from your monitor's manufacturer (do this before uninstalling the driver and reboot -- Windows may be difficult to operate with the default lo-res VGA driver).

OK, jagabo. You was right. I exchanged the old monitor, but I forgot to uninstall its drive.
    Now, everything is alright.

    Thank you, very much.

    Cheers.
