I am relatively new to working with ffmpegX, and have been reading this forum alot to try to get pointers. I have been using it to hard burn subtitles onto avi files (with an older version of mencoder), merge 2 avi files, generate left and right letterbox bars in an avi file (because I have a 16:9 TV, and find that this is the only way to make certain that 4:3 films play correctly), and convert avi to DVD with selectable subtitles, using mpeg2enc.
When I load an avi file that is, say 108 or 137 min long, I'm finding that ffmegX cuts the process off at just under 80 min, no matter which of the above processes I'm doing, generating a file that plays, but ends abruptly at 78 or 79 min. It even happens when I say, merge a 52 and a 57 min file- they'll merge, but stop at 79 min. Any thoughts on what is going wrong would be greatly appreciated- setting the media to DVD, so there isn't a theoretical 80 min CD limit doesn't have any effect.
