    Hello everyone!

I'm sorry if my question is in a wrong place. I'm a newbie, foreigner and desperate.

    My problem is as follows:

I want to watch HD videos shot with Canon Power Shot SX1 IS on my computer Acer Aspire 8530G. The files have the extension .mov.

I have tried QuickTime and QuickTime Alternative but the video stutters.

What should I do to be able to watch the videos without the picture stuttering?

I hope someone can help me, thanks a million in advance!

    Try MPCHC and Splash.

Like Baldrick said, try mpchc and splash. You can use hardware acceleration for video playback with your Acer PC and video will be smooth. Splash looks better and uses little less cpu with hardware acceleration but both will play mov files very well.

What does this 'hardware acceleration' mean and how is it done?

  6. I had the same problem. I tried Splash and a few others and they did not work. What ended up working was VideoLAN VLC player.
