    I'm looking for a software (preferably) that allows me resume playing the DVD from where I stopped.

    Freeware preferably. PowerDVD is to create DVD, right ?

    MPC-HC under 'Miscellaneous', has 'Remember DVD position' and 'Remember File position'. Haven't tried them, but the player is freeware. ZoomPlayer also lists this option, but it's payware.
