Hi, i have a sumvision cyclone hd player / recorder with a 500gb drive which is filling up pretty quick, i have read in the manual about being able to connect an external drive via the usb port at the front of the machine, has anyone tried this, or tried to connect an external hard drive to it, will it read all the normal players formats and play them without going out of sync etc or no time lag due to coming from the external source?
a quick responce would be much appreciated as i am tryin to decide now wether to buy an external 1tb or 1.5tb external drive for this, if files from the external source play just as they do from the internal source then that will be fine, and pretty good for me, as i was thining of buying a 1tb drive for it as an upgrade but it will be better in the long run if i can just add a drive externaly without any issues with doing so.
thanks
james

No knowledge of that player, but if it's similar to most players, it may use the FAT32 format for USB external drives. If so, you should be able to test it out with a USB flash drive with a video on it as they are FAT32 format also. Then you would also have to format your external drive in the same format. SwissKnife can do that.
Or someone here may be more familiar with it.
