I created some AVIs using Handbrake to rip them from a DVD. My DVD player wouldn't let me fast-forward or rewind these AVIs, so someone suggested that I use ffmpegX to "fix" them.

I tried that, but the resulting AVIs have serious problems. The audio is out-of-sync (by a couple seconds, at least), and there is significant blocking during playback. Can anyone tell me what's wrong?

Here's the log during the fix process:

I can understand that a set top player won't let you FF or RW on AVIs with a broken index. Surely the player wants AVI files to have a good index. But that doesn't automatically mean that rebuilding an AVI index will add these features to good files from HandBrake. Just saying I'm not convinced yet.
No idea on why the fix turned out so bad, either.
